Privacy Policy

The purpose of this notice is to explain how Wedge Group Galvanizing Limited (the Company) uses personal information. Personal information is defined by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as “information relating to an identifiable person who can be directly or indirectly identified in particular by reference to an identifier.” In other words, personal information is that which is directly related to an identifiable individual.

If you click on one of the icons below, this will open a matrix detailing information on the data which is processed by the Company.  One file pertains to WGG personnel, the other to customers / suppliers.  These are available in printed form, if required, from the address detailed in the penultimate paragraph below.

The Company will only collect, use and store personal information where there are lawful grounds and legitimate reasons for doing so. Some information may be shared with other parties, for example payroll information with the pension scheme administrator, where it is necessary for the Company to be able to perform its contractual obligations to the individual, or where there is a legal or regulatory obligation to do so, or where the company is protecting the interests of the individual, or in certain instances where the individual may have granted specific consent. The Company will never share individuals’ information with outside organisations for marketing purposes unless an individual has given specific consent to do so.

The Company will retain and securely store any personal information that it has collected for so long as it is necessary to continue meeting its contractual, legal and regulatory obligations, which may continue for some time even after the individual has left the employment of the Company. The retention periods for certain types of personal information differ and are the subject of the Company’s Data Retention Policy which is available upon request, or can be accessed via the Company’s information portal. At the expiry of the relevant retention period, the Company will securely and confidentially destroy the individual’s personal information.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), individuals have certain legal rights, including the right to be informed, the right of access, the right of rectification, the right to erasure, the right to restrict processing, the right to data portability, the right to object, the right not to be subject to automated decision-making including profiling and the right to withdraw consent that has been previously provided.  Details on these rights can be found on the ICO website – https://ico.org.uk/.  The Company will gladly assist in answering any queries that may arise in respect to these rights.

Should an individual wish to invoke any of these rights, then a request in writing should be submitted to the Company Secretary, Wedge Group Galvanizing Limited, Stafford Street, Willenhall, WV13 1RZ.

If an individual wishes to complain about the way in which the Company has held or used their data, they should do so in writing to the Company Secretary at the above address. If the individual is not satisfied with the way in which the complaint is dealt with by the Company, then they may contact the Information Commissioner’s Office at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
