An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Development Trainee to join our busy team at Worksop Galvanizing Ltd based in Nottinghamshire, S81 7BQ. We are part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, a successful family-owned business offering secure employment to its employees for over 150 years. We have 14 sites nationwide and apply corrosion protection to all the steel you regularly see around you such as street furniture, lampposts, bridge beams and even football stadiums through our galvanizing process.

What’s the role?

The role of Development Trainee will initially focus on work tagging and traceability – both directly working within the process but also developing and improving the approach alongside the operational team on site. The focus of the role will then be to encourage and enable development across multiple aspects of the business, providing the opportunity to learn and grow across several potential career paths.

You will be based in an office with regular access to a factory environment and main responsibilities include:
• Preparing and administering work tagging, progress tracking and traceability, learning and utilising various IT tools and software
• Supporting activities across varying departments on site as needed, gaining a broad understanding of company operations in collaboration with colleagues on site
• Undertaking training and development activities as required

Who would suit this role?

No training or experience is required as full training and on-the-job development will be provided.
This role would suit someone who is enthusiastic and eager to learn and develop
The successful candidate will need to be a strong communicator with a reasonable level of ICT literacy, including the ability to use Microsoft packages such as Excel.
