An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality and Improvement Lead to join our busy team at Worksop Galvanizing Ltd, based in Worksop, S81 7BQ. We are part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, a successful family-owned business offering secure employment to its employees for over 150 years. We have 14 sites nationwide and apply corrosion protection to all the steel you regularly see around you such as street furniture, lampposts, bridge beams and even football stadiums through our galvanizing process.

What’s the role?
As the Quality and Improvement Lead you will help to deliver our Company’s mission being the ‘UK’s Galvanizer of choice’ through ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality products and service to all our customers. You will be expected to lead and drive compliance in quality processes and use structured problem solving and continuous improvement methodology to drive improvements across the site.
Main duties include:
• Manage the quality system and technical manual.
• Leading the use of structured problem solving (e.g., CAF system, 5 Why, 8D) and provide technical support and guidance.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Provide guidance on continuous improvement activities
• Liaise with customers, providing competent representation of the company
• Hosting both internal and external auditors and compliance reviews
• Performing plant audits including tracking defects, reporting, and analysing the data.
Who would suit this role?
You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working within quality management / quality assurance and/or continuous improvement and will be able to lead activities and improvements in these areas – with the ability to demonstrate proven success in gaining results using structured problem solving.
The ideal candidate will have qualifications in continuous improvement (such as the Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent) and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships. They would also have experience in customer-facing roles and be comfortable representing the company to various audiences.
Knowledge of ISO9001 is an essential requirement.
Knowledge of the galvanizing process and/or ISO 14001 is advantageous but not essential.
