Wedge Group Galvanizing Ltd plants took part in the Galvanizers Association’s Open Day on Thursday 26th September, welcoming over 250 individuals to witness in real-time the art of galvanizing, learn about its long-term benefits, and see examples of its use in a wide variety of projects.
“We were delighted to once again take part in the Galvanizers Association Industry Open Day and to see such a fantastic turnout,” explained Managing Director, Chris Woolridge.

The day kicked off with a warm welcome from the individual plant teams, followed by tours of the galvanizing sites and engaging talks about the various stages of the galvanizing process the circular economy and sustainability.
Galvanizing is a specification adopted by many industries to protect steelwork from corrosion, as well as to offer a unique aesthetic finish. In the right conditions, galvanized steel can last over 70 years without the need for maintenance, and offers a more durable and sustainable option to paint and other corrosion protection methods.
“Thank you to everyone who decided to come along to one of our sessions – we hope it provided an interesting view into the work we do as an industry and the sectors and projects we do it all for,” Chris concluded.
